It is the City of Puyallup's pleasure to invite you to attend our 2017 Festival of Books--Books, Brews & Bites--on October 6th and 7th. All events are free and open to the public.
 
The festival will feature:
 
Keynote speaker Rick Steves, America's most respected authority on European travel. 
 
Nathalia Holt, the New York Times bestselling author of Rise of the Rocket Girls: The Women Who Propelled Us from Missiles to the Moon to Mars.
 
Soyeon Yi, South Korea's only astronaut--and Puyallup's, too, to our knowledge!
Naveed Jamali, author of How to Catch a Russian Spy: The True Story of an American Civilian Turned Double Agent. Jamali serves as a reserve intelligence officer with the Office of Naval Intelligence.

Friday, October 6
6:00 pm, Puyallup Library

Opening reception featuring local brews and complimentary appestizer. This will be your chance to meet the author Naveed Jamali who serves as a reserve intelligence officer with the Office of Naval Intelligence.

7:00 pm, Puyallup Library
Naveed Jamali was an ordinary American civilian-until he became a double agent. Come hear his true story! Book signing to follow with books available for purchase.

The Jim Taylor Memorial Lecture
Author Nathalia Holt and astronaut Soyeon Yi will speak,  after which Will James of NPR station KNKX will moderate a question-and-answer session. Book signing to follow. Books will be available for purchase.
