 Artist Bio Chuck Fitzgerald

          I consider my work to be both regional and universal. A fusion of cartoony, pop art sculptures are incorporated with realistic images. Similar to pop art stars of my college years, Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein, I am keen on the futurist, derived action effects in comic books and Warner Brothers cartoons.

          I usually work with a recognizable subject and larger than life iconography. While based in abstraction, my work contains illusions of a figure.

          Gradually my pieces have grown larger which demands more space, forcing the viewer to step back.

          As I am nearing my sixth decade, I am at the height of my creative powers. The language of modernism is embedded in my work like a code.
